Cactus to the Clouds! I’m done.
The first 8,000 feet was brutal, Especially the last 2 miles – almost straight up or at least it seemed that way. Then a little break and up the final assent to the Clouds. 10,800+ feet in 15 hours of hiking. But, the best part of it all was the support all of you gave me. I kept thinking about you from 2 in the morning until 5:30 in the afternoon. Not just the great charities for which we raised money, but the encouragement via email, text, phone, and in person, kept me putting one foot in front of the other. And seeing many of you in the restaurant at the tram station, well, that was the icing on the cake. I’ve included a few photos for you. A special thanks to my two partners in the photo, Kim and Emily, from the Upper Ojai Search & Rescue Team for joining me and keeping me safe.
It’s now Monday and I’m off for a hike closer to home and planning the next big one! You must think I’m crazy? Stay tuned.
